Spill the Beans with Creatives
We at studio Neon Attic take our commitment towards the creative community very seriously. A small step towards the many to come in the future is featuring India’s change-makers in the creative front.
A student of architecture, Reya Ahmed from Kolkata is a new-age illustrator. She is an activist and her concern for society is reflected in her art.
Now, let’s get to know her!
LAB: What does Reya like to do besides Art and Illustrations?
REYA: I really love reading books and consuming art. I also participate in rallies and contribute to mobilizing people for causes that I believe in.
LAB: We notice that you give a lot of emphasis to the eyes and cats in all your illustrations, why so?
REYA: I feel that eyes bring out the most emotion, especially in women. I love the way cats carry themselves, it is very unique
LAB: What is the one thing that you dislike?
REYA:. We illustrators have our own distinct style and when the client wants us to copy someone else’s work upsets me.
The second part of the interview was “complete the sentence”
LAB: On the weekends, I’d like to ___________
REYA: Watch movies and think about nothing but myself.
LAB: There is no such thing as too much ___________

REYA: Night Owl.
LAB: The first thing you do when you wake up?
REYA: Read through my emails.
LAB: What is your most prized possession?
REYA: My Graphic Tablet. I have a mini heart attack when it stops working.
LAB: Which colour do you think best describes you?
REYA: Red. It represents both anger and love. It is a very bright colour which instantly livens anything up.
LAB: What do you work towards every day?
REYA: I really want to find my voice as an artist. I want to do things that I believe in living. I never want to stop making art.
We had fun catching up with this young and energetic soul. Our team wishes Reya good luck!
